Selected students from MCCID College participated in Jobs Fair and Skills Demonstration event held at SM North EDSA Activity Center last November 20.

Dubbed “Jobs 4 All, (Trabaho Para sa Lahat kasama ang mga may K) Local and International Hiring”, this activity is a joint project of Rotary Club of Ramon Magsaysay District 3810 Manila, SM Supermalls and the National Council on Disability Affairs. The event was also in collaboration with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Quezon City Public Employment Service Office (QC-PESO), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).

Almost 500 Persons with Disabilities, mostly deaf and hearing impaired, visited the booths and availed of the job openings hoping to be accepted. Aside from the fair, individuals who are differently abled yet possess outstanding abilities in performing technology and livelihood skills showcased their talents. MCCID students who participated include Jerome Marzan – Flash Programming, Ace Diaz – Web Page Designing, Princess Lorn Pagaoa – Flash Animation and Mark Sampang – Graphics Designing. They also took part in the opening ceremony by signing the Philippine National Anthem (Princess) and rendering the Lord’s Prayer (Jerome, Mark and Ace). Sir Jojo Esposa was the event’s sign language interpreter together with Ma’am Edna Paraiso of Philippine School for the Deaf.

Special thanks to the special people of NCDA led by Ma’am Nelia De Jesus, Dandy Victa and Rolly Fernandez and of course the newly appointed Executive Director Geraldine Ruiz.
