A truly memorable ocassion greeted the parents and relatives of the Batch 2008 graduates when they celebrated MCCID's Tenth Commencement Exercises held at Town and Country Hotel and Restaurant last May 21, 2008.
Dubbed, "A Tribute to the Parents", thirty six students who finished the academic requirements marched on the stage accompanied by their proud parents. This year's celebration was different from previous programs held. There were no invited special guest lecturers unlike before when the school invites politicians, church leaders and government officials. The stars of the show are the graduates' parents who did a very difficult job of raising their child despite great odds in coping with their disabilities.
Selected parents led by Mr. Florencio B. Rañola Jr. (Ma. Ivy Rañola’s Father) and Mrs. Neonita U. Matias (Pia Joy Matias’ Mother) gave special and inspiring messages for their co-parents and the graduating class. For their part, the students made very special gifts and presented them to their parents including some tokens from the school. More than 140 people attended the affair.
Twenty one candidates from Batch 2007-2008 were joined by fifteen graduates of class 2006-2007 because there was no commencement exercises held in 2007.

Twenty four students representing the graduating batch and 22 second year class participated in the yearly seminar-workshop on Web Accessibility held last April 2 and 3 conducted by Sir Jojo I. Esposa Jr. and Sir Ervin R. Reyes at MCCID Lecture Hall.
The students will then use the lessons they acquired for the web sites that they will create this summer. They are already scheduled to design working websites for six non-government institutions and two e-commerce sites of deaf entrepreneurs.
Then last April 14, the graduating class presented their finished work to the officials and staff of National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA formerly NCWDP) led by Deputy Executive Director Mateo Lee and Technical Cooperation Center Chief Ms. Nelia De Jesus. Certificates were given to the successful participants with no less than NCDA Chairperson Mrs. Lovely Rosie Romulo attached her signature. She also paid for the snacks for all the students and NCDA staff.
After learning from the seminar-workshop attended by MCCID in 2004 at Tagaytay City, the school incorporated web accessibility on the www.mccid.edu.ph and at the same time include accessibility features in the websites that they will create for free to their selected institutions. The book "Basic Web Accessibility Guide for Filipinos" authored by Sir Jojo was the main resource material used. Selected websites that passed the evaluation of Philippine Web Accessibility Group was also presented as samples.

As part of their Office Visit subject, the 3rd year graduating class is required to tour different factories and offices that are related to information technology and those that employ deaf people.

This school year, they were able to visit ten companies. Among them are GMA-7, Lamoiyan Corporation, National Computer Center, Lucky Me Factory and Malacanang Palace. Two of MCCID alumni work at Lamoiyan, makers of Hapee toothpaste while Emilie Padullon has been with Malacanang Palace since 1991.
"Office Visits" is one of the important subjects in students' curriculum. Its main objective is for them to experience first-hand how a particular company operates and what work environment surrounds a deaf person. Aside from that, they may have an opportunity to be accepted by those companies that they visited.
