MCCID Joins 1st Deaf Men's Basketball Tournament

Alumni and Students form two teams

This activity is led by the Philippine Deaf Life and Sports Club (PDLSC). MCCID earlier declined the verbal invitation of College of St. Benilde (CSB) to join in their sports festival this year in favor of the bigger and much fairer competition of PDLSC wherein every team is considered equal. Based on MCCID's experience at CSB in 2002, the officiating was very biased in their favor and the organizers were ill-prepared in handling the event.

The school fielded two teams, the MCCID Alumni or ”Angels” and the MCCID Students or ”Kings”. Earlier results show that the sports supremacy of CSB is slowly waning due to their series of defeats.

Based on the latest standing posted on their phildeaf.org web site, MCCID Alumni Team won in its first event by clobbering College of St. Benilde Alumni with 82 - 78 victory last December 2. Alumni now has a 1 - 0 win-loss card.

Meanwhile, the MCCID Students Team suffered its first defeat last December 4 from Miriam College-Southeast Asian Institute for the Deaf, 78 - 54. However, they were able to redeem themselves on the next game when they outshooted College of St. Benilde School for Deaf Studies, 79 - 51 for a 1 - 1 win-loss score.

Here is the list of MCCID players:
