
Workshop attendees had a final photo opportunity together with the officials of DSWD Region VII (center) and organizers from National Council for the Welfare of Disabled Persons (NCWDP) on the last day held at Mango Park Hotel, Cebu City.
| Seventy five webmasters from all over the Philippines participated in the Webmaster's Interface on Accessible ICT for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) held from May 15 - 18, 2006 at Mango Park Hotel, Cebu City. The Interface workshop is a culmination of the three successful workshops organized by DSWD and NCWDP for the Philippine regions - Luzon, Mindanao, and Visayas. The national event brings together the country's webmasters, policy-makers, disability advocates and ICT practitioners to forge a vision for accessible web content. |

| On the first day (Day 0, Monday), those who were not able to attend in any of the three workshops previously held (Tagaytay City in October 2004, Davao City in 2005 and Cebu City also in 2005), had a crash course on web accessibility. On the second day (Day 1, Tuesday), the opening program was held and attended by representatives from Regional offices of DSWD, TESDA and RCWDP. Sir Leo Valdes of Vision Office Support Services, a Canadian based firm was the key lecturer. Ms. Grace Amberong of the National Computer Center provided the output from their monitoring activity of websites' compliance with web accessibility. She presented the matrix of evaluation and mentioned that www.mccid.edu.ph gained six points last May 2006 from the previous three points last October 2005.

In the afternoon, Sir Jojo Esposa Jr., provided a short lecture about deaf, deafness as a disability and good practices on designing accessible websites based on the experience of www.mccid.edu.ph site. Then, Mr. Rey Mendoza, webmaster of De La Salle University (www.dlsu.edu.ph) site discussed briefly about the techniques in designing Cascading Style Sheet enabled websites. |
| On the final day, all the participants signed a manifesto of compliance in designing accessible websites of their own agencies. Also, the Philippine Declaration on Web Accessibility. Certificates of participation were awarded to the attendees. Sir Jojo Esposa of MCCID bagged the Accessible Webmaster Award for promoting web accessibility. |
