MCCID bags 2 Silver Medals in Chess Tournament

Mark Ty receives special award

Mark Ty pushing pawns.Kristine Salvador preparing her chess moves.     Mark Anthony Ty, 1st year student bags the silver medal in Men's Division while Kristine Salvador, 3rd year student and current MCCIDSO President receives the silver medal in Women's Division during the 1st Chess Tournament for the Deaf held last October 8, 2006 at Vergara Basketball Court, Mandaluyong City.

     Led by the Philippine Deaf Life and Sports Club (PDLSC) with Mr. Camilo Mendez as president, the activity was also participated in by current students and alumni of DLS-College of St. Benilde and CAP College School for the Deaf. Mark Anthony, being the youngest chess player, received a special prize of one official size chess board courtesy the sponsor of the event, Chris Sports. They also donated two chess boards to each school that joined the activity.
