MCCID alumnus and star player center Emil Zion V. Punzalan received the Most Valuable Player Award during the Philippine Association of the Deaf Cup - Deaf Men's Basketball League Finals held last September 2 at the San Lorenzo Sports and Lifestyle Center in Congressional Ave., Quezon City.
Meanwhile, MCCID Angels Team bowed to fourth place when they were beaten by College of St. Benilde Devils Team, 86 - 78. Aside from Punzalan, other MCCID awardees include: Ricky Asia - Sportsmanship Award and Mark Ty and Jerome Marzan - Top Ten Defenses.
The games were also participated in by CAP College SFD Alumni (champion), Philippine School for the Deaf Alumni (2nd), College of St. Benilde Alumni (3rd), Miriam College Alumni (5th) and Bible Institute for the Deaf-Christian Brotherhood (6th).
Zion, a successful deaf entrepreneur, received the valuable award for garnering the highest overall point score during league's games.
