The International Deaf Day Celebration successfully held last Saturday, September 23 at one of the open-air basketball court inside the Quezon Memorial Circle was attended by more than 500 deaf persons from different schools, associations and organizations within Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

Led by the Philippine Federation of the Deaf (PFD) through their President Julius G. Andrada and assisted by Metrowide Ordanization of the Deaf President Jose Sales, the yearly event started at 7:30 in the morning. Exciting games, group activities and giving of special prizes were held for the enjoyment of the deaf participants. Special booth of products made by selected deaf entrepreneurs were also displayed. Filipino Sign Language workshop and lively discussions were held in the afternoon.
Manila Christian Computer Institute for the Deaf received the Certificate of Award for bringing in the most number of deaf participants followed by Manila High School. Almost 100 students, faculty and alumni from MCCID attended the affair.
