MCCID joins the entire Philippines in celebrating the 29th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week from July 17 to 23.

This year's theme is "Kapag May Access, May Success!" with the National Council for the Welfare of Disabled Persons (NCWDP) as agency tasked to lead the event.

Among the activities that MCCID will participate includes:

  • July 20, Friday - NDPR Celebration of Quezon City from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm where selected students will perform during the program and skills trainings;
  • July 23, Monday - Job Fair for Persons With Disabilities sponsored by the Department of Labor and Employment to be held at SM San Lazaro;
  • July 27 - 28, Friday and Saturday - Seminar on Interpreting and Legal Access, sponsored by the Philippine Deaf Resource Center to be held at the University of the Philippines

Aside from the fun and games on Friday, the two Philippine champions Dianne Barcelona and Glenn Ortega will be presented to Quezon City Mayor Sonny Belmonte. Checks worth P10,000 each will be awarded to them for use as their training allowances. They are scheduled to compete in Shizuoka, Japan this November 2007.
