A total of eleven medals were brought home by all the faculty, staff and students of MCCID during the 2nd National Capital Region-Abilympics Skills Competition held at three separate venues from November 21 – 24, 2005.

Each deaf student was represented by the particular Local Government Unit which is responsible for the materials, allowances and equipment needed. Here are the winners:

The gold medalists will compete for the 12th Philippine National Skills Competition on December 6 – 7, 2005 at Mapua IT Center and Robinson’s Place, EDSA. Hopefully, the winners will represent the Philippines in the 7th International Abilympics Skills Competition at Shizuoka, Japan in 2007.
The NCR Skills Competition is a joint activity of the National Council for the Welfare of Disabled Persons (NCWDP), Department of Social Welfare and Development – NCR (DSWD), Local Government Units, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) as well as Soroptimist Society of Makati City.

During the Opening Program and Day 1 competition held at Club Filipino, Aquarius R. Balisi competed in Painting and Emil Zion Punzalan for photography. On Day 2 competition held at the Mabini Hall of Quezon Memorial Circle, Oscar Purificacion joined in Poster Designing and Joseph Asuncion in Cabinet Making. The third day saw most of the competitors in Information technology competed at the University of Makati.
