Description

  1. 1st Frame: Pastor talks "BLAH BLAH BLAH" then tells a joke. A sign language interpreter is in front.
  2. 2nd Frame: All the congregation laughed. Meanwhile, George, a deaf church attendee looks quizzical.
  3. 3rd Frame: Then, the lady sign language interpreter signs the joke.
  4. 4th Frame: George laughs loud. The people beside him looks quizzical. The lady at the back uttered,”Delayed reaction?”

Explanation: Interpreting is always delayed because you cannot immediately sign every word the speaker says especially if it’s a joke. An interpreter needs to understand and process it before it can be signed to the deaf.
